Brian Baker is a partner at Ravin Greenberg, LLC. Mr. Baker has represented landlords, corporations, partnerships, individuals, creditor committees, and bankruptcy trustees, focusing his practice on complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy insolvency matters. With a multi-faceted approach to legal practice, Mr. Baker also offers his expertise in the representation of commercial debtor and creditor rights, commercial and bankruptcy litigation, Uniform Commercial Code controversies, and real estate. He has protected his clients’ rights in business transactions in federal, state, and local courts.
In a case of particular note, Mr. Baker was lead counsel to the trustee in the Solomon Dwek bankruptcy proceeding, where he assisted the trustee in the prosecution of more than $100 million in Ponzi scheme litigation claims; the sale of approximately 300 separate pieces of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate; and the reconciliation, reduction, and modification of more than $3 billion in claims filed against 81 separate, but related companies. He also helped the trustee obtain unanimous approval for a plan of liquidation that substantively consolidated all of the related entities, resulting in the return of millions of dollars to creditors. Mr. Baker has participated in the successful reorganization of numerous organizations in the restaurant, chemical, metal, retail, fashion, and technology industries, among several others. He has successfully represented hundreds of individuals through the bankruptcy process, and has testified as an expert witness on bankruptcy.
